Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician - Electrical position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and related building electrical systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role is primarily focused on industrial electrical and controls troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, root-cause problem solving, and safe return of equipment to service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and related building electrical systems.

Troubleshoot industrial electrical and control systems, including motors, VFDs, PLC I/O, sensors, relays, contactors, HMIs, 24VDC controls, and 480V equipment.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production as needed.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspection activities on production equipment and building electrical systems.

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments to restore safe and reliable operation.

Assist with troubleshooting recurring equipment failures and identifying root causes to help reduce repeat downtime.

Support machinery installation, upgrades, repairs, and maintenance-related projects as assigned.

Use hand tools, power tools, electric meters, and testing equipment in the performance of duties.

Help restart and return production lines to operation following breakdowns, maintenance work, or changeovers.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.

Document completed work and communicate equipment issues clearly to maintenance and operations leadership.

Participate in an on-call rotation approximately one week per month to support plant operations.

Work overtime or weekends as needed during major breakdowns, shutdowns, or special projects.

Provide your own basic hand tools.

Perform other duties, activities, or responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

High school diploma or GED required.

Technical training or an associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.

Five or more years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred.

Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting experience required.

Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls.

Experience troubleshooting motors, drives, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, relays, contactors, HMIs, 24VDC controls, and 480V equipment.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

PLC troubleshooting experience required; programming knowledge is a plus, but not required.

Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and VFD-driven equipment is preferred.

Ability to diagnose equipment issues, make sound repairs, and work with minimal supervision.

Basic computer skills required and willingness to learn CMMS or work-order systems.

Strong attention to safety, quality, detail, and follow-through.

Ability to support production equipment and related building electrical needs in a fast-paced plant environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

·         Experience with troubleshooting industrial control panels and electrical distribution within a manufacturing facility.

·         Experience supporting lighting, basic facility electrical systems, and similar building-related maintenance tasks.

·         LOTO, OSHA, or electrical-related certifications.

·         Forklift or aerial lift experience is helpful; training will be provided .

·         Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to identify practical corrective actions.
