Manufacturing Maintenance Technician II

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on simple/manual; semi automated; and certain aspects of fully automated manufacturing equipment. Corrective maintenance activities include: troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls, and electrical systems; and minor equipment performance improvement activities.

Essential duties include performing preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, performing corrective maintenance activities such as troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls and electrical systems; supporting equipment performance improvement projects and process validation activities; contributing to process optimization and scrap reduction efforts through equipment design improvements, improvements to operating and maintenance procedures, and maintenance activities; independently troubleshooting equipment with a high degree of quality and reliability; implementing permanent corrective actions to eliminate recurrent problems; continuing to develop technical skills and knowledge; assisting in developing the technical capabilities and skills of less experienced technicians/associates; learning and demonstrating proficiency with advanced maintenance practices and techniques; responding and executing work with a sense of urgency and utilizing support systems to minimize downtime; performing all tasks in accordance with company and department policies, procedures, and guidelines; demonstrated understanding and compliance with all safety requirements; working to support department KPI's/Metrics/Objectives; tasks are completed in a timely fashion and correct the first time.

Other duties and responsibilities may include handling, collecting, labeling and transferring hazardous waste following established procedures and guidelines; may be required to work on other shifts and to be "on call" as needed; may lead special projects; requires adherence to policies and procedures for hazardous materials, LOTO, equipment guarding, robotic safety, biohazard.

Minimum qualification requirements include a high school diploma or GED; minimum 2 years experience, 5 years preferred; technical skills proficient with tools, instrumentation, and test equipment; proficient with metric and English measurement systems; ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical drawings, flowcharts, and/or other drawings of a technical nature; basic electrical/mechanical knowledge concerning machines and tools including design, uses, repair, and maintenance; can apply fundamental skills to troubleshoot areas that they are not necessarily subject matter experts on; experience with RF welding theory/process, bonding, ultrasonic welding, hot plate welding, leak testing, etc.; demonstrated fluency with database and information systems as required by the department; basic understanding of complex automation processes; demonstrated understanding and compliance with all safety requirements; basic troubleshooting/demonstrated ability electrical mechanical hydraulic/pneumatic controls logic, programmable logic controllers (PLC's), Ethernet communication, DeviceNet, networks; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate with peers; maintain communication with different levels of departments and peers about findings, upgrades, and troubleshooting through e-mail, texts, and voice calls; proficient with, and effective use of Microsoft office applications; ability to manage time effectively and in accordance with priorities; action oriented and takes initiative to resolve emerging issues; adaptable and flexible; works effectively and professionally with operations, and technical team members.

Physical requirements include use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, and hand/finger dexterity; must be able to work in a clean room environment, adhere to associated policies, and perform gowning of clean room attire in the allotted time prior to start up; requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment; requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity including ability to distinguish colors; must be able to work under florescent lighting; requires the ability to sit or stand through the duration of a shift.
