Position Manufacturing Maintenance Technician 1 2nd shift : Sun–Tue, Every other Wednesday 5:30pm–6:00am Job Summary Maintenance Technicians ensure a plant’s equipment and facilities are in proper working order. They typically have a broad base of knowledge across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. They engage in preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and reactive maintenance to fix equipment when needed. Essential Duties Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to layout plans, operating or repair manuals, and drawings. Perform equipment modifications as directed by manufacturing engineering. Use test and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot equipment and determine best course of action for repair. Work with senior level technicians to perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including inspection, calibration, and lubrication. Write procedures to document various operations executed by maintenance technicians and review content for accuracy with engineering and senior maintenance staff. Other Duties and Responsibilities Willingness to work overtime as required by workload and production needs. May be required to work on other shifts and to be “on call” as needed. Adherence to policies and procedures for hazardous materials, LOTO, equipment guarding, robotic safety, and biohazard controls. Minimum Qualification Requirements Education High school diploma or GED. Experience Basic to limited maintenance experience. Skills Technical skills and basic understanding of tools, instrumentation, and test equipment. Basic understanding of metric and English measurement systems. Basic understanding of mechanical/electrical drawings, flowcharts, and other technical drawings. Electrical/Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools including design, use, repair, and maintenance; ability to troubleshoot beyond subject matter expertise. Entry-level understanding of RF Welding, Bonding, Ultrasonic welding, Hot plate welding, leak testing, etc. Basic understanding of databases and information systems as required by the department. Entry-level understanding of complex automation processes. Demonstrated understanding and compliance with all safety requirements. Entry-level troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability. Electrical Mechanical Hydraulic/Pneumatic Controls logic, PLCs, Ethernet, DeviceNet, networks Root cause analysis Communication and collaboration Communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to collaborate with peers. Maintain communication with different levels of departments about findings, upgrades, and troubleshooting via email, texts, and calls. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office. Time management, initiative, adaptability, and professional collaboration with operations and technical teams. Note: An equivalent competency level acquired through related experience may be considered. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Pursue qualifications in Electrical Safety, RF Welding, and other applicable technical skills per defined timeline. Physical Requirements Requires use of personal protective equipment in a manufacturing environment and ability to read, speak, hear, walk, bend, stand, stretch/reach, and perform fine dexterity. Must be able to work in a clean room environment, adhere to policies, and gown appropriately before start-up. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 500 pounds with carts or mechanized equipment. Good manual dexterity and visual acuity, including color discrimination. Ability to perform repetitive motions and moderate force gripping. Work under fluorescent/LED lighting. Compensation and Benefits Target Pay Range: $19.00 to $24.00 per hour, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market data. Target Bonus on Base: 7.0%. We anticipate this position will be open for a minimum of five days.
