Description Job Information Title: Manager, Facilities Architectural Authority: TA Department: Subways Division/Unit: Facilities Location: Various Hours: Various Reporting Manager (if Applicable): Senior Director, Facilities Project Management Deadline (if Applicable): Open until filled Compensation: $117,510 - $146,888 (CON005) Position Summary The position provides oversight of all NYCT Subway’s facility construction efforts not managed by MTA C&D for all owned and leased properties. Responsible for the management and oversight of several multi-million-dollar capital construction projects rehabilitating facilities utilizing both in-house represented labor and outsourced contracted labor. This position will be involved in all project lifecycle phases including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, technical specifications, and reporting. It requires expertise in the design and construction of architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and furniture, as well as expertise in reviewing design drawing assuring conformity to NYS Building Code and facility specifications. Responds to emergencies/critical occurrences on a 24/7 basis. Responsibilities Oversee all NYCT Subway facility construction projects not managed by MTA C&D across owned and leased properties. Manage multi-million-dollar capital rehabilitation projects using both in-house represented labor and external contractors. Lead all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, and development of technical specifications. Review architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and furniture-related design documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with NYS Building Codes and NYCT standards. Coordinate construction activities to maintain project timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks. Provide technical guidance and direction to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders. Monitor project progress, address issues, and maintain safe and efficient operations. Respond to facility emergencies and critical incidents on a 24/7 basis. Support long-term facility improvement planning and strategic initiatives. Education and Experience Baccalaureate from an accredited college in Architecture or Engineering, or a satisfactory equivalent. Six (6) years of professional experience. Two (2) years of managerial/supervisory experience. Desired Skills Experience performing site inspections, documenting conditions and construction activities, coordinating with end users and contractors, and responding contractor requests for information. Proficient in AutoCAD. NYS RA License Preferred. Strong understanding of construction methodology, materials, finishes, and furniture specifications. Knowledge of capital design and construction processes across all project phases. Experience leading meetings with internal stakeholders and external consultants. Proficient in developing project schedules, inspection reports, and tracking tools. Understanding construction details including stairs, roof, infrastructure, and office design. Knowledge of NY State and ADA codes relate to inspections and drawing reviews. Comfortable conducting field visits and site inspections in stations and train yards. Additional Information Final salary is determined experience, skillset, and alignment with compensation practices. The posted range reflects expected compensation and may be updated as market or business needs evolve.
