Pay Range $19.57-$22.30 an hour Unionized Position Yes Job Summary The Housing Stability Advocate provides trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy and housing support to families enrolled across Cornerstone’s housing programs, including Rapid Rehousing (RRH), Transitional Housing (TH), and Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH). This role supports survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking/exploitation, and sexual violence in obtaining and maintaining safe, stable housing while working toward long-term independence and stability. The Housing Stability Advocate is a cross-trained member of the housing and shelter team and works across programs to ensure continuity of services, effective program flow, and ongoing support for participants. This position collaborates closely with internal teams, landlords, housing partners, and community providers to help participants navigate housing systems, address barriers to stability, and access supportive services. Services are provided in participants’ homes, in the office, in the community, and at partner sites. Some evenings and weekends may be required. A hybrid work schedule may be available after 90 days of employment. Experience/Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in domestic violence support, housing advocacy, or related field Knowledge of trauma, survivor dynamics, housing programs, tenant rights, and public benefits Strong advocacy, crisis intervention, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining professional boundaries Experience working with diverse communities; commitment to equity and anti-oppression practices Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based systems Bilingual/multilingual and a related bachelor’s degree preferred Valid driver’s license, insurance, reliable vehicle, and ability to pass a background check Key Competencies Provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy Understand the connection between domestic violence, poverty, and homelessness Work effectively both independently and as part of a team Uphold agency values, including harm reduction, housing-first, and client-centered approaches Essential Functions Provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered case management, including housing navigation, stability planning, and connections to supportive services Conduct regular check-ins, home visits, and virtual meetings to assess safety, housing stability, and participant needs; respond to crises as needed Support participants in building skills for housing retention, including landlord communication, conflict resolution, and tenancy support Coordinate services across housing programs (Rapid Rehousing, Transitional, and Permanent Supportive Housing) to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care Maintain accurate documentation, track participant progress, and ensure compliance with program and funding requirements Build and maintain relationships with landlords, housing providers, and community partners to expand housing opportunities and remove barriers Participate in team meetings, cross-training, coordinated entry, and community partnerships to support program goals and professional growth Provide shelter coverage and additional program support as needed, including outreach, education, and other duties assigned Visit our career page at: Our Benefits Package Includes Free virtual mental health counseling (for all employees + their families) Free telemedicine (for employees + enrolled family members) 401(k) after 90 days + up to 4% employer match after 1 year Paid parental leave after 1 year of service Medical, dental & vision (eligible first month after 30 days) HSA & FSA options Free basic life & AD&D insurance Free long-term disability Voluntary short-term disability Generous PTO: 168 hours to start (increases after 24 months) 11 paid holidays + 2 floating holidays Paid birthday off EEO Statement Cornerstone strives for a fully inclusive work environment and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, veteran, disability, age, marital or, familial, and/or with regard to public assistance or any other characteristic.
