Medical Laboratory Scientist *Temporary*- Providence Kodiak Island Providence Health and Services Kodiak, AK Description The Medical Technologist conducts clinical diagnostic testing on inpatients, outpatients, and residents to included blood draws and specimen collections for processing. Performs therapeutic phlebotomy. Conducts quality control procedures on patient tests and laboratory equipment to ensure that accurate diagnostic testing is performed. Reports patient data to the patient’s medical record and/or medical staff if the results warrant direct contact. Required Qualifications: Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement. Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology Within 1 year of hire: National Clinical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts Preferred Qualifications: 2 years work experience in a clinical laboratory.
