The ideal candidate is committed to ensuring compliance with health and safety standards while delivering nutritious, high-quality meals to our residents to join our team. The Food Service Director oversees all aspects of food service operations within our care center, managing large-scale food operations that aligns with our organization’s values. Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing culinary programs, coordinating menus, inventory and budgets, and maintaining accreditation and sanitation standards. Key Responsibilities Food Service Management: Strong knowledge of large-scale food service operations, menu planning, cost control, sanitation, and food safety protocols. Leadership & Staff Development: Ability to manage, lead, develop, train, supervise, and evaluate staff. Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of state and federal food safety laws, such as FDA codes, and internal policies specific to Virginia facilities. Inventory & Budget Management: Experience in ordering, inventory tracking, and budget forecasting. Equipment Proficiency: Skilled in operating and maintaining institutional kitchen equipment. Must be a Certified Dietary Manager. Clinical nutrition/or food service experience preferred. Additional Considerations Exceptional proven track record in Leadership positions and employee management. Prior experience with therapeutic or medically necessary menus in healthcare or long-term care settings. Experience with altered diets including preparing, testing, and training staff to IDDSI standards Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to multi-task and follow through on commitments in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
