Auburn Memorial Medical Services, PC · Auburn Psychiatry Auburn , NY Clinical Professional Full Time , Days Posted 09/02/2026 Position Summary: Auburn Memorial Medical Services, PC is seeking a compassionate, clinically skilled, and patient-focused Psychologist to join our outpatient behavioral health team. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive, evidence-based psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients experiencing a variety of mental health, behavioral, emotional, and adjustment-related concerns in a collaborative outpatient practice setting. The Psychologist will work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate and treat patients with a range of psychological and behavioral health conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and an interest in developing long-term therapeutic relationships with patients while helping improve their emotional well-being, functioning, quality of life, and overall health outcomes. Responsibilities and Duties: Conduct psychological assessments, clinical interviews, and diagnostic evaluations. Provide evidence-based individual psychotherapy and, when appropriate, couples, family, or group therapy. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, clinical findings, and treatment goals. Diagnose and treat a range of mental health, behavioral, emotional, and adjustment-related conditions within the Psychologist's scope of practice. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate. Provide education and counseling regarding mental health conditions, coping strategies, treatment options, and behavioral health. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Make referrals to psychiatry, behavioral health services, or other specialists when clinically appropriate. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and follow-up recommendations in the EMR. Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development. Maintain compliance with all applicable professional, ethical, legal, regulatory, and organizational standards. Qualifications: Current licensure as a Psychologist in New York State, or eligibility for New York State licensure. Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Completion of appropriate supervised clinical training and experience required for licensure. Prior experience in outpatient behavioral health, clinical psychology, integrated behavioral health, pain management, primary care, rehabilitation, or a related clinical setting preferred. Experience providing psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychotherapy. Experience working with patients experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic pain, adjustment difficulties, stress-related conditions, or other behavioral health concerns preferred. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR). Strong clinical judgment, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
