Director of Purchasing

Director of Purchasing to lead purchasing operations, supplier management, and supply chain initiatives that support business growth, inventory availability, and cost optimization. This role will oversee purchasing strategy, backend processes, policies, controls, and systems while partnering closely with Distribution Center, Operations, Finance, and IT leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with inventory, service, and financial goals.
• Lead supplier relationships, negotiations, performance management, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Partner with Distribution Center and Operations teams to ensure efficient product flow and inventory availability.
• Establish and improve purchasing policies, processes, controls, and ERP-driven workflows.
• Drive forecasting, inventory planning, and supply chain optimization initiatives.
• Leverage data, automation, AI, and forecasting tools to improve purchasing decisions and operational efficiency.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing purchasing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or inventory management experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of distribution center operations and end-to-end supply chain management.
• Experience developing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and improving operational processes.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, purchasing controls, inventory management, and forecasting.
• Strong analytical, financial, and leadership skills.

Preferred

• Experience in distribution, wholesale, consumer products, apparel, or other high-volume environments.
• Experience with ERP implementations, automation initiatives, and process improvements.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning tools for forecasting and inventory planning.
