Sr Advanced Project Engineer - Supplier Development

Senior Adv. Project Engineer – Supplier Development As a Senior Adv. Project Engineer for the Electronics Value Stream, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Printed Wired Boards (PWB) and overall electronics suppliers. You will develop strategic partnerships, manage supplier performance, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and supply chain efficiency. Key Responsibilities Evaluate the capabilities of PWB and electronic component suppliers and support the transition of hardware from development to production. Conduct supplier risk assessments and implement targeted quality improvement plans specific to PWB and electronic component manufacturing processes. Lead and participate in capacity assessment exercises, driving supplier performance through clear metrics and expectations. Partner with suppliers to support OPEX projects that enable improvements in product flow, throughput, lead time reduction, and yield. Ensure compliance with quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate closely with engineering, NPI, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to resolve supplier-related issues and improve overall supply chain performance. Travel domestically 25-50% and occasionally internationally. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Minimum 15 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or supplier development focusing on Printed Wiring Boards and related electrical component production, design, or NPI. Proficiency in quality management and problem‑solving tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and/or Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP/PPAP). Knowledge of aerospace standards and practices related to electronics components and PWB manufacturing. Preferred Qualifications Aerospace, electrical or electronics engineering degree. In-depth knowledge of supplier development strategies and quality control. Experience with project management and Kaizen facilitation. Familiarity with Total Preventative Maintenance, asset management for downtime reduction, critical spare parts, and CAPEX proposals. Budget management and financial acumen. 6+ years of leadership and team management experience. Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross‑functional teams. Green or Black Belt certification in Lean/Six Sigma. U.S. Citizenship Requirement Must be a U.S. Citizen due to contractual requirements. Pay Transparency The annual base salary range for this position is $133,000–$166,000. Additional compensation is influenced by market and business considerations.
