Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Orthopedic


Job Details:

• Work collaboratively with orthopedic surgeons in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions
• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments
• Develop and implement treatment plans under physician supervision
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic and imaging studies
• Assist orthopedic surgeons during surgical procedures
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient management and follow-up care
• Educate patients and families regarding orthopedic conditions, treatment plans, recovery expectations, and rehabilitation
• Perform orthopedic-related procedures including joint injections and other office-based procedures
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the medical record
• Participate in rotational call coverage on a 1:4 schedule
• Adhere to hospital policies, universal precautions, OSHA standards, and patient safety protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation teams, and ancillary departments to ensure continuity of care
• Support quality improvement initiatives and departmental goals
• Current Vermont PA-C License required (or willingness to obtain)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery required
• Minimum 2 years PA experience in primary care or relevant specialty highly preferred
• CPR for Healthcare Providers and DEA required prior to start
• Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days) required at presentation
• Not accepting new graduates with less than 1 year of experience
• Not accepting visa candidates
• Full-time permanent placement position only - not open to locum or locum-to-perm candidates
