Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct physical therapy services as directed by licensed physical therapists, adhering strictly to treatment plans developed for each patient.
• Engage patients in therapeutic exercises tailored to alleviate pain, develop functional ability, and maximize overall performance.
• Guide patients through therapeutic activities, which may include muscle reeducation, gait training, and transfer assistance.
• Administer physical agents such as heat, cold, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage to facilitate recovery.
• Regularly monitor and document patient reactions to treatments, reporting any notable changes in their condition to the supervising physical therapist.
• Educate patients on the proper use and maintenance of mobility aids, such as wheelchairs, crutches, canes, and orthotic devices.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, including treatment notes and progress reports, ensuring timely updates to patient files.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to ongoing staff education programs aimed at enhancing service quality.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, helping to shape and refine the therapy practices within our organization.
• Other administrative and clinical duties as assigned to foster a cohesive and efficient workplace.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our physical therapy services primarily cater to a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, injury, or managing chronic pain. The PTA will work closely with patients of all ages, tailoring interventions to their specific recovery needs and rehabilitation goals. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution, with completion of a physical therapy assistant program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Current licensure or certification as required by the state of New Jersey.
• Possession of a valid CPR certification to ensure patient safety during treatment.
• A valid driver's license, an insured, reliable vehicle, and readiness to travel as needed for patient care.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting is required, candidates with prior hospital experience or those who have worked in outpatient rehabilitation centers will be preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is a plus, as it enhances workflow efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits
