Line Cook Position

The Firebrand, a boutique hotel in downtown Whitefish, is seeking a line cook to work with our food and beverage team at $21-$25 hourly DOE. The kitchen needs you to prepare and keep the food flowing. All employees receive perks of $50 rooms at any of our properties, and discount rates at our spa, restaurant, and retail.

The hotel is located at a main intersection in downtown Whitefish and 15 minutes from Whitefish Ski Resort. Principal Responsibilities and Position Purpose

As a line cook you will be responsible for stocking and setting up the station. Preparing food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cooking food items by grilling, sauting, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Acquiring directions from supervisor and retaining information received.
• Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations.
• Preparing food includes cleaning and cutting the ingredients, cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks.
• Plating prepared foods based on senior chefs' guidance.
• Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.
• Ensure all equipment is kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant's preventative maintenance programs.
• Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking equipment at the end of work shifts.
• Full understanding of, and follow, all regulations that pertain to health and safety.

Qualification Standards

Education

• Preference for a previous cooking experience

Experience/ Licenses or Certificates

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a restaurant or related field assets.
