This travel RN position focuses on Med/Surg patients with an oncology specialty note. The assignment requires NYS RN licensure, BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI), and NIHSS, with a minimum of two years of medical‑surgical nursing experience. Work is conducted in a high‑acuity inpatient setting, with day and night coverage and periodic on‑call shifts. The end date is flexible but intended to run through the holiday season, with extension opportunities dependent on unit needs and performance.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process for adults with medical conditions, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Assess patient and family needs, develop an individualized plan of care, monitor progress, and adjust as condition changes
- Administer medications and therapies, monitor responses, and ensure safety and accuracy in medication administration
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, self-care after discharge, and when to seek follow-up care
- Document care, assessments, plans, and outcomes clearly in the medical record; uphold infection prevention and safety standards
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other team members to coordinate care and support optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement activities and self‑development; maintain professional standards and regulatory compliance

Requirements
- Current NYS RN license
- BLS and ACLS (AHA or RQI)
- NIHSS certification
- Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
- Ability to work 3x12-hour shifts (day/night) and participate in on-call coverage
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient- and family-centered education and support in a fast-paced inpatient setting
