We are a collective of dreamers and thinkers, doers, and makers…and we're searching for more of the same to join the ranks.Immediate opening for a welder with experience in different types of metals (including aluminum, steel, and stainless steel) and using multiple types of metal equipment (including bender, grinders, saw, etc.). Candidate must be able to read blueprints and have a minimum of three years of experience working in a metal shop. Candidate will be responsible for creating all forms of metal fabrication from start to finish to facilitate building tradeshow displays for clients. The ability to maintain high quality standards and accuracy in their work is critical for this position.The job includes:Ability to weld aluminum and steel using MIG and TIG welders.Basic machining and fabrication skills.Capable of reading blueprints and/or other written/oral instructions to determine sequence and methods of fabricating and welding.Ability to create a cut list and track all material used.Operates machinery in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment to management.Maintains a clean and orderly work area.Maintains and produces a high-level quality of output; monitors own work to ensure quality.Possesses good time management skills to complete the job at hand in a timely manner and within budget.Comply with all safety guidelines and procedures, as well as company policiesReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Work environment includes:Exposure to potential hazards, including toxic gases and fumes, burns, eye injuries, and falling objects.Potential contact with rust, grease, and dirt on metal surfaces.Potential exposure to sparks and glare.Potential need to weld in a variety of awkward positions.Physical demands include:Employee is regularly required to hear and talk.Employee is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.Employee understands that the position is very active, and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.Employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds.Employee must possess specific vision abilities, to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Expected hours of work are:This is a 90 day to full-time position with days and hours of work from Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm (subject to change).
