Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Quality Engineer position. This position is a direct-hire opportunity which is expected to be on-site in Orlando, FL.

Summary
Quality Engineer supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality systems within an aerospace manufacturing environment. This role ensures that products meet internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The individual works cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to support continuous improvement and maintain compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace quality standards. 

Job Description:

• Assist in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100/ISO 9001 standards.
• Participate in internal audits and support external audits by customers, regulatory bodies, and certification agencies.
• Support the development and revision of quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation.
• Generates first article inspections (FAI) reports in accordance with company and AS9102 requirements.
• Assist in reviewing and approving manufacturing plans, process documentation, and engineering drawings for
  quality requirements.
• Support production teams with day-to-day quality issues, including facilitating MRB meetings, conducting
  nonconformance analysis and completing/verifying corrective actions.
• Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process assemblies, and finished goods using precision
  measurement tools.
• Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving activities using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone
  Diagrams, and 8D methodologies.
• Assist in evaluating supplier performance, reviewing supplier documentation, and processing supplier
  nonconformance reports.
• Collaborate with supply chain to ensure suppliers meet aerospace quality requirements.
• Contribute to process improvement projects aimed at reducing defects, improving yield, and increasing
  operational efficiency.
• Gather quality metrics and assist in preparing reports for management review.

Minimum Security Clearance:

Clearable - Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.

Qualified candidates would have the following:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5 (required).
• Basic understanding of quality principles and aerospace manufacturing processes (preferred).
• Familiarity with quality management systems such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar standards (preferred).
• Knowledge of inspection tools and measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and Coordinate
  Measuring Machines (CMMs).
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (required); experience with CAD software or data analysis tools
  is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Hands on position requiring interaction among multiple disciplines.
• High attention to detail with organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work cohesive in a team environment
• Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.

Education, Experience and Training:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited University or equivalent combination of education and
  experience.
• Internship or co-op experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or quality engineering is preferred but not
  required.
