Senior Staff Accountant

Job Description Deiorio Foods, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at our Utica facility. This role is responsible for managing month-end close, supporting financial reporting and budgeting, maintaining internal controls, and assisting with audit and compliance activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Manage the month-end journal entry and account reconciliation process. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP. Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities. Provide financial insights to management to support strategic decision-making. Assist in the company’s annual budgeting process. Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and operational decisions. Assist in the year-end audit process and prepare required documentation for external auditors. Help implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. Serve as backup for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Serve as backup for inventory-related ERP functions including receiving, transfers, and shipping. Maintain and modify inventory items, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and routings within the ERP system. Participate in reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Stay current with accounting regulations and industry trends. Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations. Manufacturing and inventory accounting experience preferred. Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills include financial modeling and data analysis. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Job Type Full Time From $70,000.00 per year.
