MKCI is a comprehensive litigation defense firm with a proven track record of successfully defending clients in high-stakes civil litigation cases across various general liability and product liability/toxic tort matters. Although our attorneys are skilled in handling diverse legal matters, our expertise lies in litigating and trying complex cases related to public entities (negligent hiring/supervision), premises liability, construction defect, general liability, product liability (including but not limited to asbestos and talc related claims), and medical malpractice.

Trial Attorneys at MKCI play a pivotal role in our litigation department, handling complex disputes, developing defense strategy, providing strategic solutions, and zealously defending our clients in preparation for and during trial. The position involves client interaction and court appearances. The successful candidate could be based out of MKCI's New York City, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut offices - hybrid work options are available.

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Manage a caseload of complex civil litigation matters from inception through resolution via trial, dismissal, or settlement.
\n
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents.
\n
• Argue motions and other case dispositions in Court.
\n
• Participate in client meetings, prepare case analysis reports, and provide effective and strategic legal advice to our clients.
\n
• Conduct and manage all phases of discovery, including depositions, examinations, expert identification, retention, and preparation, and witness preparation.
\n
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services.

Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
\n
• 10+ years of experience in civil defense litigation - salary commensurate with experience - range for role is $175,000 to $225,000.
\n
• 1st or 2nd chair civil trial verdicts required.
\n
• Admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and/or Connecticut.
\n
• Superior analytical skills.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
\n
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
\n
• Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism.
\n
