Psychiatrist, Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Inpatient Unit (Part‑Time/Weekends/Vacation Coverage/Holidays) Location: Stony Brook, New York Open Date: Jun 10, 2026 Deadline: Jul 10, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time We are seeking a child and adolescent psychiatrist to join our expanding hospital‑based Psychiatry and Behavioral Health services at Stony Brook University Hospital. The role focuses on delivering evidence‑based, patient‑centered care to a diverse population of children and adolescents aged 9–15 years on a 10‑bed inpatient unit. The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor will serve as the attending on weekends, cover vacations and leave, and provide psychiatric consultation to patients admitted to Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. Responsibilities include direct patient care, psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and treatment in a multidisciplinary team environment, teaching, and supervision of child and adolescent psychiatry fellows. Work Schedule: Part‑time, 20 hours per week, primarily Saturday & Sunday shifts. Flexibility for additional weekday hours and holiday coverage as needed. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist MD/DO (or foreign equivalent). Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. New York State license at start date. Preferred Qualifications: Inpatient Child & Adolescent Experience. Experience in teaching. A track record of academic accomplishment.
