Learn more about our mission in our TED Talk or visit us at The Construction Director will lead Parity's construction operations as we grow from renovating tens of homes per year to many more. You will oversee the rehabilitation of complex rowhomes, including properties that may be partially collapsed, while helping build the systems and team capacity needed to increase our long-term impact. This is a unique opportunity for someone coming from a larger firm who wants their experience and ideas to help shape a mission-driven organization from the ground up. Key Responsibilities Lead construction operations across multiple residential rowhome rehabilitation projects throughout West Baltimore Manage, mentor, and grow a diverse construction team while fostering a collaborative culture Oversee site visits, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control Ensure compliance with Baltimore City permitting requirements and local building regulations Guide estimating processes, including site photo reviews and cost assessments Partner with leadership to scale Parity's construction operations toward a goal of 200 homes annually Uphold and model Parity's values of warmth, collaboration, equity, and craftsmanship in daily work Oversee general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure accountability, quality, and adherence to schedules and budgets Manage procurement, material ordering, and tracking while navigating supply chain issues and maintaining supplier relationships Coordinate with architects, engineers, city inspectors, and utility providers such as BGE and DPW to support efficient project execution Conduct regular site walks, including bid walks, preconstruction visits, progress inspections, punch list walks, and closeout reviews Develop, refine, and implement construction processes and systems to improve efficiency and support scale Identify and carry out value engineering opportunities to reduce costs while protecting design and construction quality Ensure safety protocols and OSHA standards are followed by conducting safety and quality inspections throughout projects Track and report on schedules, budgets, construction metrics, and stakeholder communications Respond proactively to delays, emergencies, and construction-related issues Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and partners while expanding Parity's contractor network Support administrative functions including contracts, change orders, waivers, retainage, draw releases, and insurance compliance Maintain strong knowledge of Baltimore building codes, zoning, and permitting requirements Stay current on labor costs, construction materials, and green building practices to support planning and execution Qualifications Minimum of 5 to 7 years of construction management experience, preferably involving historic or distressed rowhome renovations Proven ability to manage people, subcontractors, and trade partners effectively Strong operational mindset with experience scaling construction operations Experience with Buildertrend software preferred, with training available Estimating experience strongly preferred Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle conflict constructively Valid driver's license and ability to travel to worksites in Baltimore, with reasonable accommodations considered Final candidates must complete a background check consistent with Maryland law Must live within one hour of Baltimore, MD Compensation & Benefits Full-time position Competitive salary in the range of $100,000 to $150,000 , depending on experience Health benefits package Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for professional growth and leadership within a fast-scaling nonprofit builder The opportunity to do mission-driven work that revitalizes communities and helps build generational wealth for residents Equal Opportunity Employment Parity Homes is an Equal Opportunity Employer .
