Senior Data Migration Engineer with DBA Experience

Overview

• Senior Data Migration Engineer and technical lead specializing in enterprise data modernization using Python, dbt, Airflow, Oracle, and SQL.
• Combines data engineering with hands-on Oracle DBA expertise, including PL/SQL development, database object administration, performance tuning, database links, and production troubleshooting.
• Leads technical delivery across design, development, testing, release, and production support while coordinating with developers, QA teams, DBAs, and client stakeholders.
• Promotes engineering quality through reusable design patterns, Git and CI/CD practices, peer reviews, mentoring, automation, and operational documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and design solutions for complex data engineering problems, from technical design through build and delivery.
• Develop, deploy, and support dbt workflows across development, QA, and production environments.
• Design and develop reusable Oracle PL/SQL packages, along with schemas, synonyms, database links, grants, and scheduler jobs.
• Develop Airflow DAGs and manage workflow scheduling, deployment, and monitoring in Airflow and Control-M.
• Manage Git branching, merges, code promotion, and CI/CD release deployments.
• Troubleshoot workflow, database, and application failures; drive issues to root cause with DBAs and developers.
• Analyze Oracle performance using wait events, session/lock monitoring, and SQL tuning.
• Baseline database users and ensure environment readiness for development, testing, and releases.
• Mentor and guide developers — onshore and offshore — on design standards, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
• Act as technical point of contact for developers, QA, DBAs, and client stakeholders, and maintain documentation, runbooks, and automation scripts.
• Perform peer code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to fellow engineers.
• Contribute to technical documentation, runbooks, and handover materials.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience with solutioning complex data engineering problems, from technical design through build and delivery
• • 5+ years of Python experience, including production use of parallelism and batch data processing
• • 5+ years of SQL experience - complex joins, window functions, aggregations across large datasets

• 3+ years of hands-on dbt Core experience - model layering, macros, tests, incremental materializations
• 1+ years of Airflow experience - DAG authoring, task dependencies, and incorporation with scheduling tool
• 1+ years of Oracle DBA Experience - Experience creating schema, synonyms, db links, and backup/restore. Deep understanding of performance tuning when running queries across db links

Preferred
Familiarity with Informatica Power Center concepts such as mappings, sessions, workflows, and parameterization

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this role is $134,000-180,000. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.

This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
