Job Title Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Medical Surgical Organization MO-SSM Health DePaul Hospital – St. Louis Job Type Regular – Employee Schedule and Hours Flexible schedule: 3 x 12‑hour shifts 7 p‑7 a with every third weekend and holiday rotation. Estimated 36 scheduled weekly hours. Job Summary Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license. Primary Responsibilities Contributes to patient assessment and ensures patient well‑being. Administers medications and monitors patients for adverse reactions. Educates patients/families about treatment plan and self‑care. Maintains constant alertness and works safely. Performs point‑of‑care testing as required. Performs additional duties as assigned. Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an educational equivalency for licensing. Experience No experience required. Physical Requirements Constant use of speech to share information orally. Constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects weighing 0–25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for near and far distances and to distinguish colors. Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors. Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, identify body sounds and alarms. Occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects weighing 25–50 lbs. Occasional lifting/moving of patients. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Occasional driving. Rare crawling and running. Required Professional License and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Nurse Licensure Issued by Compact State.
