The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $96,514 - $127,886.88. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria. Join Our Team as a Project Engineer!Key Responsibilities:Prepare calculations associated with building electrical systems and power infrastructure, low voltage controls, lighting, life safety.Perform field survey work necessary to validate layouts/plans prior to, during, and after construction.Perform field survey work necessary to accurately transcribe existing building plans into CAD based drawings.Prepare drawings and engineering/construction documents.Prepare electrical system drawings, single lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical physicals (arrangement, assembly, detail, fabrication), specifications, functional descriptions, sequence of operations.Prepare cost estimates, schedules, specifications, review/comment/approve drawings and submittals, installation supervision.Assist fellow team members within the Facilities department with design, troubleshooting, and electrical expertise.Maintain regular and punctual attendanceAttend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or requiredCommunicate effectively and respectfully with othersDrive a car or other vehicleUnderstand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rulesCoordinate work of contractorsWhat you’ll Need To Succeed:B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or similarExpertise/familiarity with industrial power distribution and protection, UPS systems, switchgear, emergency generators, life safety, PLCs, building automation, ladder logic, motor controls, low voltage systems including fire signaling, access control, surveillance, and utility infrastructure systems.Familiarity and experience with commissioning above systems, startup, and troubleshooting.Knowledge of IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, UL, IBC, Chicago Electric Code, NEMA, and electrical industry codes and standards.Ability to create project budgets/estimates.Experience with construction management, electrical construction standards and practices, and coordination of trades.Drafting experience with AUTOCAD and MicroStation.Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to prioritize work and stay organized to meet project schedules and internal customer requestsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to review, interpret and effectively comment on drawings as required to accurately communicate desired construction to contractors.Discipline/Specialty PreferredP.E. license or FEProcess system and/or material handling experienceExperience with audit complianceExperience with preventative maintenanceExperience with project managementExperience with Building Automation SystemsAbility to read electrical and mechanical schematic drawingsS&C Electric is committed to equal-opportunity employment.
