About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join a Telemetry team in Lufkin, TX. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac and physiological monitoring.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills, experience caring for patients with cardiac and medical conditions, and the ability to recognize changes in patient status and respond appropriately.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to telemetry patients throughout the shift.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, oxygen saturation, and other relevant clinical indicators.
• Recognize and respond promptly to abnormal cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely according to physician orders and facility policies.
• Monitor patients receiving cardiac medications, anticoagulants, and other high-risk therapies.
• Assess IV sites, central lines, drains, catheters, and other medical devices as applicable.
• Review laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate significant findings to the appropriate healthcare providers.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures, treatments, and other clinical interventions.
• Monitor patients for complications and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide pain management and evaluate patient response to treatment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, technicians, CNAs, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, disease management, and discharge instructions.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, and discharge planning.
• Follow infection prevention, medication safety, patient identification, and fall prevention protocols.
• Respond appropriately to rapid changes in patient condition and participate in emergency response when required.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care in accordance with professional nursing standards.

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license eligible for practice in Texas.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience.
• Previous Telemetry or acute care experience required or strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation.
• Experience with medication administration, IV therapy, and complex patient assessment.
• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Willingness to work a 3×12 Day Shift schedule.
• Required certifications should meet applicable facility requirements.
