Role Description The Construction Estimator/Bid Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Valley Stream, NY. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing detailed cost estimates, performing quantity take-offs, and analyzing project specifications and drawings for bids across public and private sector projects. The role involves developing bid proposals, coordinating with project managers and field teams, and working closely with subcontractors and vendors to obtain and evaluate pricing. The individual will monitor market pricing and construction costs, support budgeting and cost management throughout the bid process, and ensure all bids are accurate, competitive, and submitted on time. The position also requires maintaining organized bid documentation and communicating clearly with internal stakeholders and clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of construction estimating or bid coordination experience.
• Strong ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with commercial, public, institutional, roofing, exterior restoration, concrete, masonry, or general construction projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of New York City and Long Island construction costs and subcontractor markets.
• Experience preparing detailed estimates and change-order proposals.
• Strong communication and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating or takeoff software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, BuildingConnected, Procore, or similar platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing scope. xhyhwjd
• Comfortable communicating with subcontractors, suppliers, project managers, clients, and company leadership.
