Cytotechnologist - Cayuga Medical Center

Hours a day - 7.5 Hours/Week - 37.5 Contract Length - 6-8 Weeks Monday-Friday Years Experience in specialty/profession - At least 1 year Travel Experience Required (Y/N) - NO Technologies Needed - Hologic ThinPrep Certification(s) Required - NYS license, Hologic ThinPrep Imager and Review Scope certification Float to other units (if so describe) - NO A cytotechnologist in the anatomical pathology department is responsible for the accurate preparation, evaluation, and interpretation of both gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens. The cytotechnologist participates in fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures to provide an immediate adequacy evaluation. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: v 1. Prepare, screen and evaluate gynecologic cytology specimens by microscope using the Hologic ThinPrep system - accurately transcribe and enter results into the laboratory information system (Epic). v 2. Prepare, screen and evaluate non-gynecologic cytology specimens by microscope - accurately transcribe and enter results into the laboratory information system (Epic).
