Reasonable Accommodation Supervisor

Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of an Administrator II in the Personnel Services Section, the incumbent serves as supervisor over the Reasonable Accommodation Team. The incumbent provides instruction and consultation to all levels of Franchise Tax Board (FTB) management on matters related to reasonable accommodation, acting as a subject‑matter expert to the Administrator II, staff, and enterprise management to ensure a safe environment for all FTB employees. As the first‑line supervisor, the incumbent leads staff development, providing direction and guidance to resolve sensitive and confidential matters. The position also leads the development and implementation of processes and procedures to ensure timely, effective, and compliant reasonable accommodation processing. Minimum Requirements Administrator I, Franchise Tax Board Background Investigation clearance prior to hiring. Compliance with the California Revenue and Taxation Code. Desirable Qualifications Ability to interpret and apply Reasonable Accommodation laws and policies. Experience processing requests for reasonable accommodation. Knowledge of reasonable accommodation processes. Human Resources experience. Supervisory or lead experience. Experience investigating and resolving discrimination based on disability or medical condition or denial of reasonable accommodation. Strong analytical and customer‑service skills. Experience in training and procedure writing. Strong leadership skills, including inspiring, motivating, mentoring, and building teams. Willingness to adjust work schedule to meet operational needs. Ability to effectively plan, organize, and manage multiple workloads. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and management. Ability to present ideas and information orally and in writing. Experience providing feedback and developing staff. Independent and self‑motivated with emphasis on results. Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflicts. Flexible decision‑making and creative problem‑solving skills. Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders. Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, open‑minded, fair, and objective. Involvement in diverse activities that broaden understanding of the organization. Demonstrated performance encouraging positive relationships and high job satisfaction.
