Litigation Attorney

Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and client-centered Employment Lawyer to represent employees in workplace disputes and advise individuals on their rights at work. The attorney will manage matters from initial consultation through negotiation, administrative proceedings, litigation, and resolution. The ideal candidate combines sound legal judgment, persuasive advocacy, empathy, and the ability to manage a varied caseload independently while collaborating with colleagues and support staff. Key Responsibilities· Advise and represent employees in matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, leave and accommodation issues, restrictive covenants, whistleblower claims, and employment agreements. · Evaluate potential claims, develop case strategy, assess damages and remedies, and communicate practical options and risks to clients. · Draft demand letters, administrative charges, pleadings, discovery, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents. · Conduct and defend depositions, participate in hearings and mediations, negotiate resolutions, and prepare matters for arbitration or trial. · Manage deadlines, case files, client communications, and billing or timekeeping requirements with accuracy and professionalism. · Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws, court decisions, agency guidance, and procedural developments. · Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, experts, and co-counsel while contributing to firm knowledge, training, and business-development efforts. · Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all professional, ethical, and court obligations. Preferred Qualifications · Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. · Active license and good standing in Kentucky or eligibility for prompt admission. · Relevant experience in employment law, civil litigation, or a closely related practice area. · Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills. · Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise independent judgment. · Commitment to representing employees with diligence, respect, and cultural awareness. · Proficiency with common legal research, document-management, and productivity tools. · Additional state bar admissions in Indiana, Ohio or Tennessee.
