Traditional Chinese Creative UI & Marketing Linguist

Role Description
Welocalize is looking for an English (en-US) into Traditional Chinese (zh-Hant) linguist with experience in the field of Marketing, UI, and Support related documents. This is an on-going freelance and remote position.
- Location: Remote (US-aligned timezone)
- Expected Volume: Approximately 1,000 to 2,000 words per week
- Employment Type: Freelance/Independent Contract
- Task type: Translation, Copy-Editing (CE)
- Content types: Support, Marketing, UI, Legal, Informational, Online Help
- CAT Tool: Lucid and Phrase
Qualifications
- Native or near-native proficiency in Traditional Chinese (zh-Hant) with excellent command of US English
- Proven experience editing, translating, and proofreading English (en-US) to Traditional Chinese (zh-Hant) content
- 3+ years of professional experience in translation with a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field OR 5+ years of professional translation experience without a formal translation degree
- Demonstrated experience translating informational, marketing, UI, online help, legal, and support content
- Experience using CAT tools
- Strong understanding of marketing tone, brand voice, and customer-facing communication
- Excellent attention to detail, terminological consistency, and linguistic accuracy
- Ability to deliver high-quality translations while meeting deadlines
- Flexible, reliable, and responsive in a fast-paced localization environment
- Strong communication skills and openness to feedback and revisions
Requirements
- Must be proficient in Traditional Chinese (zh-Hant); candidates specializing only in Simplified Chinese (zh-Hans) will not be considered.
- Must be based in a US-aligned timezone (including PST, MST, CST, EST across the United States, as well as Canada, Mexico, Central America, and South America timezones); candidates working US hours from other regions will not be considered.
