Ali’i Health Center (AHC) was formed in 2007 and has experienced tremendous growth since its inception. AHC brings Primary Care and Specialty services such as; Cardiology, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Women’s Health and Urology to the Big Island Community. We are currently looking for a Gastroenterologist to be part of our fast-growing organization in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
Position will coordinate course of treatment for patients with a variety of disorders, diseases, or irregularities that pertain to the digestive tract. Will also perform endoscopies.
Responsibilities:
- Consulting with patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns.
- Prescribing tests, treatments, and/or performing colonoscopies, when necessary.
- Maintaining detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests and/or treatments prescribed, and test results.
- Performing tests, when needed, to check the health of patients’ digestive tract.
- Interpreting test results to determine how effectively the digestive tract is functioning.
- Performing endoscopies at our Ambulatory Surgery Center and local hospital.
- Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
- 3 to 7 years internship and clinical residency training, specializing in Gastroenterology.
