Make a meaningful impact in an educational setting by providing essential support as a paraprofessional for students who require dedicated 1:1 assistance. This contract opportunity is located near Independence, MO, and is perfect for individuals passionate about helping students thrive within a school environment.

In this position, you will work closely with two students: a 4th grade female and an 11th grade female. Both students are medically fragile and need help with toileting and diapering. The older student requires behavioral support, and you’ll be a key contributor to her educational journey. Experience with a hoyer lift is a plus but not necessary—comprehensive training will be provided on campus for the right candidate.

Key Qualifications:

• Previous paraprofessional or similar experience in school settings
• Comfort and proficiency in assisting with toileting and diapering students
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting medically fragile children
• Experience dealing with student behaviors; calm under pressure
• Openness to learning how to use adaptive medical equipment (hoyer lift training provided)
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, especially for Tuesday team meetings starting at 8:00am

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 support to assigned students throughout the school day (8:45am-4:15pm)
• Assist in daily routines, including personal care and medical needs
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement educational and behavioral plans
• Ensure student safety and comfort at all times
• Document and communicate daily progress and observations
