This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Account Executive, Expansion & Renewal based in United States.
As an Account Executive focused on Expansion & Renewal, you will play a key role in driving long-term customer growth by strengthening executive relationships and identifying opportunities to expand the adoption of innovative fundraising technology solutions. This is a relationship-driven role centered on cultivating existing accounts, supporting strategic conversations, and helping customers maximize value from their investment. Working closely with Customer Success teams and senior client stakeholders, you will guide expansion initiatives, manage renewal processes, and contribute directly to revenue growth. The position offers the opportunity to engage with leadership teams across nonprofit, higher education, and healthcare organizations while operating in a collaborative, fast-growing, and mission-driven environment. Success in this role comes from building trust, understanding customer goals, and turning proven results into long-term partnerships.
Accountabilities
- Drive account growth by identifying, developing, and closing expansion opportunities within an established customer portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with executive-level stakeholders, including budget owners and organizational decision-makers.
- Partner closely with Customer Success Managers to uncover growth opportunities, develop business cases, and align expansion strategies with customer objectives.
- Participate in business reviews and strategic meetings to present value, demonstrate return on investment, and support account growth discussions.
- Lead expansion conversations, proposal development, pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and agreement execution.
- Coordinate renewal activities alongside Customer Success teams, ensuring timely contract execution, stakeholder alignment, and smooth renewal processes.
- Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting, and pipeline management within CRM systems.
- Collaborate with internal operational and contract management teams to ensure efficient handling of agreements, documentation, and administrative processes.
- Monitor customer engagement, organizational changes, and emerging opportunities to proactively support long-term account success and retention.
Requirements
- 37 years of experience in SaaS sales, account management, customer growth, renewals, or expansion-focused sales roles.
- Demonstrated success managing existing customer relationships and closing upsell, cross-sell, or expansion opportunities.
- Strong familiarity with fundraising, advancement, development, nonprofit organizations, higher education institutions, or healthcare foundations, either through direct industry experience or customer-facing sales roles.
- Proven ability to build relationships with senior leaders, including Vice Presidents, Chief Development Officers, and C-suite executives.
- Experience conducting executive-level presentations, business reviews, and strategic account discussions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
- Strong negotiation, relationship management, and consultative selling capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Customer Success teams while maintaining productive executive relationships.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or comparable systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities, timelines, and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
- Experience in fast-growing or entrepreneurial environments and familiarity with process-building initiatives is considered an asset.
