Sales Manager Opportunity At Kevin's Natural Foods
Kevin's Natural Foods is adding a key player to our team of innovative food professionals. We are looking for a dynamic Sales Manager capable of forging partnerships within the natural channel to advance the easy-cooking offerings available in the marketplace. This role requires someone who is comfortable representing products that are on the front end of emerging market trends. As a Sales Manager this individual will be responsible for developing new business, while managing existing accounts within the marketplace. This role will involve all aspects of the sales process from initial pitch, to tailoring the product mix and ultimately managing the account.
• Design and implement a strategic sales plan outlining a methodical approach for calling on prospective accounts.
• Develops, builds, and nurtures customer relationships with a focus on driving revenue growth for Kevin's Natural Foods and expanding ACV, average items, and promotions.
• Travel to prospective customers to lead cuttings and sales presentations.
• Hold regular status calls and face-to-face planning meetings with existing accounts to foster long term relationships and drive organic growth.
• Participate in the planning and monitoring of promotional activity supporting Kevin's Natural Foods programs.
• Manages active trade, forecasting, and replenishment budgets to ensure efficient allocation of resources and alignment with sales and inventory goals.
• Engage company resources in Marketing and Product Development effectively to meet sales objectives.
• Keep a pulse on emerging trends, new products, and competition status.
• Determine and codify sales targets based on the market opportunity and the company's business objectives.
• Assists in creating fully integrated trade plans with defined business objectives.
• Influences demand planning processes to enhance forecasting accuracy.
• Supports the development of a fully integrated sales plan for customers.
• Attend trade shows and relevant customer meetings.
• Support the Director in managing the external broker network.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, demand planning, finance, and category teams.
• Work closely with brokers and distributors.
• Experience working with natural distributors: UNFI, Albert's Organics, Tony's Fine Foods, SuperValu
• Experience managing natural retailers: NCG, Natural Grocers, The Fresh Market, Earthfare, Nugget Market, Harmons, New Seasons, Mothers Market, Bristol Farms, Lunds & Byerly, Heinens, Cub Foods, and Dierbergs
• Other duties as assigned or necessary.
• Ability to influence without authority.
• Strong financial acumen.
• Ability to work cross-functionally.
• Advanced negotiation skills.
• Ability to develop comprehensive sales plans designed to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Deep knowledge of category and customers.
• Understanding of the category and retailer space.
• Negotiate positive outcomes on behalf of Kevin's Natural Foods.
• Direct experience with distributors i.e. UNFI, KeHE
• Experience managing UNFI natural and conventional chains and independents
• BS degree in business administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a successful sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
• Resourceful and driven with a proven track record of performance in a work environment with a high level of autonomy.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
• Strong business sense and industry expertise.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work with and understand syndicated data.
• Ability to travel up to 40%.
