Step into a dynamic role supporting students across a local school district as an Audiologist, providing essential services to students from Pre-K to 12th grade. This contract position is based on-site, primarily at Mission Academy, and occasionally requires travel to a cluster of school campuses to ensure comprehensive audiological care for about 50 students. Most service delivery centers around Mission Academy and Highland High School, with students often bussed in for appointments. Collaborate closely with the dedicated DHH Coordinator and itinerant teaching staff to deliver targeted support.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Master's degree in Audiology
- At least 5 years of experience in school-based or equivalent pediatric audiology positions
- ASHA certification (a waiver is available for those already certified)
- State licensure to fit and repair hearing aids
- State Audiologist license for school practice
- Successful completion of the required examination
- Ability to complete fingerprinting and background checks as part of employment screening
- Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and communicating with school personnel and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and interpret audiological assessments for students in grades PK-12
- Fit and maintain hearing aids and assistive listening devices
- Offer scheduled troubleshooting and follow-up services for students, in alignment with itinerant teaching staff
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Travel to assigned campuses to support students in designated clusters
- Promote hearing health awareness and guidance for staff and families
