Metrology Technician

Job Summary Our client, a leader in medical device manufacturing, is looking for a Metrology Technician in their Calabasas, CA location. Key qualifications include 2+ years of relevant experience in CMM programming (Mitutoyo MCOSMOS preferred) and standard measuring instruments (such as optical comparators and vision systems). An Associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience is required. Location: Calabasas, California Job type: Contract Salary: $40 - 41 per hour Work hours: 8am to 4pm Education: Associates Responsibilities Primary Objective: Deliver precise measurement, evaluation, and reporting to support new part development, validation, existing part quality, and root cause analysis (RCA). Engineering & Product Partnership: Collaborate with Product Development, Supplier, and Manufacturing Engineering to define measurable design specifications and evaluate test feasibility. Process & Method Development: Create and validate new component inspection methods, author SOPs and Work Instructions, and build internal capabilities to minimize vendor reliance. Scope & Support Roles: Perform specialized technical, operational, or administrative tasks, drawing on completed vocational training or equivalent experience. Autonomy & Peer Mentorship: Work independently, handle internal communications, and act as an informal guide and resource for less experienced colleagues.
