Job Opportunity – Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour day/evening shifts (0700-1930), weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need

Highlights:

• Fast-paced 28-bed medical surgical telemetry unit in a Magnet-designated facility
• Diverse case mix including medical conditions (COPD, heart failure, diabetes, infections), bariatric surgery, orthopedic procedures, and general surgical cases
• Epic electronic medical record system with state-of-the-art technology and evidence-based practice
• 5:1 patient ratio on weekends with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• 20 hours of orientation provided with opportunities to participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Float requirements may apply to other units as needed

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state RN license
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum of two years acute care experience within the last three years
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must pass telemetry competency examination prior to start (80% passing score with 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms and third-degree heart blocks)
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV management, blood product administration, wound care, and management of medical-surgical patients
• Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility location
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
