Interior Designer Level II

JCJ Architecture is seeking an Interior Designer Level II. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, plus six or more years of related experience. Certification as a licensed professional is preferred but not required. The role involves generating architectural concepts for interior projects, planning and designing interior aspects of large or multiple projects, and providing subject matter expertise on specific components of Interior Design.

The candidate should demonstrate working knowledge of conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration phases on assigned projects. They should maintain and initiate frequent communication with the JCJ team, fully participate in designated project meetings, and demonstrate proficiency at written communication in email and virtual communication via JCJ virtual meeting software.

The Interior Designer Level II should consistently demonstrate creativity in design, the ability to adapt design solutions to a variety of building types, and a working knowledge of the conventions of space planning. They should produce building project documentation from concept through construction documents, create detail drawings, and accurately perform numeric tasks such as square footage calculations and material quantity take offs for budgeting purposes.

The candidate should oversee the maintenance of resource materials and database in physical and digital libraries, consistently demonstrate knowledge of Furniture, Fixtures, Equipment and Material costs, and prepare and/or oversee the FF&E specifications and FF&E location plans and budgets using JCJ established software and formats.

The role requires active participation in value engineering exercises, answering RFI's, and using JCJ software to learn and assist in shop drawing, submittal review, and file management for construction and FF&E procurement. The candidate should coordinate with the construction manager/contractor/procurement client team and attend regular construction phase meetings.

Job requirements include a Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent work experience, 6+ years' experience in interior design, design management, and design services, and 4+ years creating interior design solutions. Professional registration is preferred but not required. Advanced computer and information management skills (AutoCAD, Revit) are also required.

Travel to work sites and other offices may be required. Ability to work overtime and be available for client issues and communication after hours is necessary. The work environment includes a professional office environment and job sites where the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise levels. Physical demands include talking or hearing, standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and lifting or moving objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
