Step into an engaging contract opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher working with elementary-aged students in a supportive setting. Serve second through fifth graders, focusing on small group instruction to deliver specialized educational services and support tailored to individual learning needs. This role provides the perfect mix of consistent weekly structure and the chance to create measurable growth, all within a collaborative and positive school community.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in special education or a related field
- Valid CDE license, with a mild to moderate endorsement
- Experience teaching elementary students in special education settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Passion for fostering academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth in diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and differentiated support to students with varied learning needs in small groups
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), monitor progress, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Establish a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Engage with parents, caregivers, and general education staff to promote student success
- Collect data and maintain accurate records to document student progress and meet compliance standards
- Foster students’ self-advocacy, confidence, and social skills within the school setting
