Maintenance Technician

Location 5240 Fountain Drive,Crown Point, IN, 46307,United States Base Pay $21.00 - $23.00 / Hour Employee Type FT Non-Exempt Required Degree High school Manage Others No Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep of all agency facilities, apartment buildings, business offices, and agency properties. The Maintenance Technician is expected to be an active participant in the agency's mission, vision, and values. This individual shall work to ensure consistent, quality services to the agency's constituents, demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative, and flexibility in assignments and maintain positive working relationships and communication with all agency personnel, will be inclusive, communicative and will establish themselves as a primary resource to those he/she works with. Requirements Major Duties Inspecting buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues. Repairing faulty equipment units and damaged structures. Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures. Managing heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality. Planning and scheduling repairs. Conducting periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard. Performing general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry. Helping develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department. Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies. Other duties assigned by Director of Facilities Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field is preferred. A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. In-depth knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems. Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques. Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings. Effective problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.
