The Opportunity
\n- \n
- Work with Medical Directors to review site performance, address problems, and adjust practices to achieve profitability Accountable for ensuring all sites are solvent. \n
- Review monthly site performance reports and ensure problems are corrected. \n
- Take charge of or assist MDs in resolving issues with problem payers, AR, etc. \n
- Monitor site contributions and organization subsidies. \n
- Work with Vituity Practice Management staff and VP in negotiations of managed care contracts affecting sites in his/her region as needed. \n
- Manage debt forgiveness when applicable. \n
- Coordinate and lead the negotiation of contracts in the region and resolve issues with payers, managed care organizations, and the hospital. \n
- Operate a new site to budget. \n
- Know incentives and operationalize optimization, ensure contract terms are being met. \n
- Own start-ups, Year One, and Hot Spot calls. \n
- Increase in subsidy needs to be approved by COO. \n
- Accountable for site operational and quality performance. \n
- Aid each MD in the identification and correction of potential and/or existing operational or financial problems, including patient flow, coding, documentation, compliance, and productivity issues. \n
- Advise Medical Directors and site management team to ensure that all practice lines in the region provide the highest quality medical care. \n
- Know quality metrics for the site and system, ensure these are exceeded. \n
- Accountable for ensuring meaningful integration occurs: Identify opportunities for practice line integration to ensure the quality and efficiency of patient care delivery across the acute care continuum; assist with new service line startups; engage regularly with integrated site RDs. \n
- Engage in collaboratives, set the tone, hold MD and SMT accountable. \n
- Allocate Vituity Practice Management, Operations Consultants, and Regional Leads resources for region. \n
- Work collaboratively with Operations Consultants and Regional Leads on initiatives such as start-up calls and performance improvement initiatives and assume responsibility for the success of those efforts. The RD is ultimately responsible for their practices’ performance. \n
- Act as the leader for the site in any Vituity collaboratives. \n
- Be proactive in maintaining oversight of all site metrics, incentives, and operational processes. \n
- Provide leadership for all partners and employees in region. \n
- Onboard and mentor Medical Directors and address any performance issues in a timely manner, hold them accountable. \n
- Aid the MD in recruiting, onboarding, and acculturating new providers. \n
- Represent Vituity and impart information on new policies and procedures. \n
- Work clinically at struggling sites when appropriate and necessary. \n
- Commit to creating and demonstrating inclusivity within Vituity including codesigning, building, and executing strategies, policies, and practices that cultivate equity, inclusion, and fair opportunity for all; demonstrating preparedness to educate, mitigate, coach, and address daily bias and exclusion in partnership with the site leadership. \n
- Lead with integrity by recognizing the voices and ideas of individuals in their respective site or division. \n
- Ensure practices are following up on compliance requirements. \n
- Ensure the Medical Directors are signing off on timecards within due date. \n
- Support current and future Leadership development by supporting and participating the Leadership Development Program. \n
- Represent Vituity and maintain relationships in their region. \n
- Maintain a strong C-suite relationship, ensure added value. \n
- Respond quickly to emails and calls. \n
- Represent Vituity to hospital administration and nursing; meet at least annually with them, but quarterly is preferred. Best to have ongoing check-ins. \n
- Assure strong and positive relationships with medical staff. Encourage site partners to become Chief of Med Staff. \n
- Serve as a member of Vituity Regional Director Operations Committee and on appropriate Vituity workgroups. \n
- Assume responsibility for any Medical Director in an emergency. \n
- Regularly engage, mentor, and assist fellow regional directors, medical directors, and site management team. \n
- Meet with Medical Directors on a frequent basis and monitor high risk and new sites monthly. \n
- Investigate and address Partner and provider complaints and issues in the Region. \n
- Leadership education and training. \n
- Participate in Divisional meetings with all practice lines. \n
- Provide regular organizational updates at the site level. \n
- Ensure appropriate onboarding, education, and training of MDs. \n
- Education and training sessions. \n
- Create and update training materials. \n
- Supply potential candidates to the leadership pipeline. \n
- Identify opportunities for new business, report them to leadership and/or business development for follow up. \n
- Participate in New Business opportunities outside your own region as needed. \n
- Present new innovations and service line offerings to current clients to enhance existing relationships. \n
- Manage the contract negotiation process with existing sites via Renewal Process. \n
- Ensure our contracting process is being followed. \n
- Participate in establishing new contract terms. \n
- Facilitate integration of practice lines in startups and existing contract sites. \n
- Meet regularly with RDs from different service lines to share challenges and find solutions to increase contract stability. \n
- Joint accountability with the System Client champion to ensure good relationships; ensuring that we are meeting/exceeding expectations. \n
- Monitor and intervene when appropriate on matters of client, medical staff, and hospital staff conflict/problems. \n
- Ensure that all Vituity physician providers understand their fiduciary obligations as Vituity partners. \n
- Model and communicate the cultural values, partnership principles, and patient-centered cause in interactions with patients, clients, providers, employees. \n
- Work with your peers to help and improve overall performance. \n
- Accountable for meeting organizational goals in their Region. \n
- Plan and contribute to content for Division wide meetings as assigned. \n
- Promote Vituity’s culture, mission, values, culture, and democratic principles. \n
- Work with Partnership affairs and CPAC on provider related issues and concerns in his/her Region and ensure that progressive counseling with exceptional documentation is followed. \n
- Ensure bi-directional communication to and from providers regarding organizational updates, policies and procedures, strategy, etc. \n
- Have regular interactions with key hospital administrators to maintain an open line of communication and to understand and address pain points throughout the year. \n
- Monitor and intervene when appropriate on matters of client, medical staff, and hospital staff conflict/problems. \n
- Ensure site providers are actively participating on key hospital committees. \n
- Assist the site leadership in cultivating and maintaining key relationships when able and applicable with hospital board members, foundation members etc. \n
- Respond in a timely manner. \n
- Align with partnership strategy, initiatives and expectations and communicate to the site level. \n
- Have an in-depth understanding of the strategy and initiatives to own the message and be prepared to thoroughly discuss with Partners. \n
- RD is a Vituity advocate and should communicate as an owner of the message as opposed to being simply a translator. \n
- Provide VPs feedback they receive related to these communications. \n

Required Experience and Competencies
\n- \n
- Must be a board-certified Radiologist. \n
- Licensed physician as a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school and completion of residency through an accredited residency program required. \n
- Maintain membership and privileges on Hospital’s medical staff and comply with and abide by the bylaws, rules and regulations, and the policies and procedures of Hospital’s medical staff where services are being provided required. \n
- Physician Partnership status required. \n
- Operations management role experience, ex: Medical Director, Medical Group Manager, multi-site experience required. \n
- Medical group clinical work experience required. \n
- Must work a minimum average of 3 clinical shifts per month. \n
- Proactive and solution-minded. \n
- Superior clinical skills to serve as role model by setting high standards. \n
- Ability to interpret and understand complex financial data as related to practice management. \n
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Able to motivate physicians, clinical, and non-clinical employees. \n
- Dedicated team member and effective relationship builder. \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective negotiation skills. Able to resolve disputes. \n

Estimated annual base compensation of $275,000 – $900,000, depending on site, specialty, clinical volume, schedule, and experience. Compensation for part-time and per diem roles is prorated based on clinical hours worked. In addition, Vituity physicians participate in our partnership model from day one, which includes profit distributions, equity ownership, and K-1 tax advantages. Total compensation including partnership income varies by site and may significantly exceed the range shown.
