About the Position

We are seeking a Locum Neurohospitalist / Neurologist to provide inpatient neurological coverage in Springfield, OR. This is a unique 24 hour call only opportunity where the physician reports to the hospital only when called in and provides follow up rounding the following morning when necessary.

The physician will provide neurological consultations, stroke evaluations, NeuroInterventional consultations, and inpatient care for adult & geriatric patients in a large acute care hospital environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Neurology consultations
• Evaluate and manage patients requiring neurological care
• Provide stroke consultations and evaluations
• Provide NeuroInterventional consultations
• Participate in NeuroInterventional procedures within the physician's scope of privileges
• Respond to urgent neurological consultations during call coverage
• Report to the hospital when called in
• Follow up with inpatient rounding the following morning when clinically appropriate
• Collaborate with hospitalists and other specialty teams
• Provide recommendations for diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing neurological management
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC
• Provide appropriate continuity of care during the assigned call period

• Locum Tenens
• 24 hour unrestricted call
• 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• Strictly call based coverage
• Physician reports onsite only when called in
• Follow up rounding the following morning as necessary
• Coverage begins December 7, 2026
• Initial assignment: 13 weeks
• No block schedule requirement

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Board Certified in Neurology
• 2+ years of relevant experience required
• Active Oregon medical license required
• Oregon license must be in hand; client is not willing to license
• Proficient EPIC user required
• Experience providing inpatient neurological consultations
• Experience with stroke consultations preferred
• NeuroInterventional consultation experience required
• Ability to perform NeuroInterventional procedures within granted privileges
• Documentation of surgical/procedural services representative of requested privileges from the previous 24 months required
• Physicians who completed training within the previous year may provide a training log
• Ability to meet facility credentialing requirements
• COVID vaccination required with no exemptions
