Your Impact

The General Manager at Crisp will oversee all aspects of the dispensary's daily operations. This includes managing staff, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations, handling financial oversight, and driving sales and customer satisfaction. You will report directly to the Head of Retail and work closely with them to develop and implement strategies that ensure operational excellence and achieve business goals. Your leadership will inspire a team committed to delivering top-tier customer service in a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment.

Staff Management

• Recruit, hire, train, and manage staff members throughout the employment lifecycle.
• Conduct performance evaluations and oversee disciplinary actions.
• Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure optimal operational coverage.

Operational Oversight

• Ensure strict adherence to security protocols, inventory management, and local and state regulations.
• Manage daily operations, including cash handling, inventory control, and meticulous record-keeping.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maximize efficiency and ensure compliance.

Customer Experience

• Inspire and lead the dispensary team to deliver the highest level of customer service.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming, and satisfactory environment for all customers and employees.
• Oversee marketing and promotional activities designed to attract and retain a loyal customer base.

Financial Management

• Create budgets, forecast sales, and develop strategic plans to meet or exceed profit goals.
• Monitor and analyze financial reports, sales data, and inventory levels to drive informed business decisions.

Training & Development

• Provide ongoing education for staff on cannabis products, including strains, edibles, concentrates, and consumption methods.
• Lead regular educational sessions to ensure the team remains knowledgeable and fully compliant with industry standards.

Regulatory Compliance

• Maintain full operational compliance with all local and state laws, including accurate reporting for security and inventory.
• Stay continuously informed about shifting regulations and update internal practices accordingly.

Community & Leadership

• Serve as the public face of Crisp in the community, building strong relationships with customers, local businesses, and stakeholders.
• Foster a positive, professional work environment that promotes teamwork and a commitment to excellence.

What You Bring (Qualifications):

• Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role within the retail industry, with direct experience in cannabis retail management highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, financial management, and regulatory compliance.
• Deep familiarity with Connecticut state cannabis regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience creating and managing budgets, forecasting sales, and analyzing financial reports.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in retail management software, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and inventory management platforms.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license.
• Maintain flexibility to work on a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
• Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background check to obtain and maintain a Key Employee License issued by the CT DCP

The employee is regularly exposed to strong cannabis odors and is frequently required to handle cannabis products. Exposure to environmental particles such as pollen and plant pathogens. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
