Role: Lead DevOps Engineer

Location: REMOTE

Duration: 3-6 month C2H

Lead-level DevOps / Infrastructure engineer who can own AWS and Kubernetes-based infrastructure, guide consultants, partner closely with the business and product side, and make smart decisions around scalability, cost, stability, and delivery speed.
Mature, hands-on technical leader with strong planning, communication, and documentation skills who can drive infrastructure enhancements, upgrades, and GitOps/IaC standardization across a modern AWS environment.

Tech Stack - EKS, Kubernetes, Docker, Networking as wide experience with AWS infrastructure.
- Kubernetes, FluxCD/Helm, EKS, DNS, Scability Tools
- AWS - CDK, AWS Configuration and understand of various services to support the solution
  - CDK, SES, SNS, Aurora Postgres, Dynamo, Redis(Elasticache), OpenSearch
- Networking - Within Kubernetes, Cross Cluster as well , Cross Org
  - VPC peering, peering in general, and networking setup across different EC2 instances in various domains

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - CDK

Responsibilities - Enhancements to the infrastructure via Planning, Bug Fixes and Tech Support
- The infrastructure related to the operational support for the solution and technology stack for the engineering team
Weekends - 6-9 times a year we will need to deploy off hours on the weekends
- We'll need someone to support infrastructure enhancements such as
  - Kubernetes upgrades
  - database upgrades
  - other infrastructure updates
Planning and Communication is crucial
- Working through the plans to minimize impacts to customers
  - Why, How, Steps, Testing
Documentation
- Documentation on how everything works and how to do it.
- gitops is part of it.
- This allows us to continue to shift left and get help from engineering or give engineering what it needs to execute
Automation is a side effect is locking things down to gitops in a repeatable fashion
- Figuring everything out correctly and planning part 1.
- Automating as part of the process is getting to execution
