The Controller is a critical leadership role within the organization, reporting directly to the Finance Director. The Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting functions and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the financial records and reporting. The role is responsible for establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with US GAAP and local, state, and federal tax laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain ownership of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting policies.
• Lead monthly and annual financial close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
• Oversee intercompany transaction recording and reconciliation processes.
• Establish and maintain reconciliation standards, close procedures, and audit-ready documentation.
• Provide oversight of accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and customer credit processes.
• Provide oversight of accounts payable processes, vendor setup governance, invoice processing, and payment execution.
• Manage treasury activities, including cash positioning and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and periodic physical inventories.
• Design, implement, and enforce internal controls over financial reporting.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and update accounting policies, procedures, and standard operating documentation.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and coordinate audit schedules and support.
• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes in partnership with business leaders.
• Build and lead a high-performing accounting team focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner cross-functionally to provide financial insights and key performance indicators to leadership.
• Analyze and present financial results, trends, and key business drivers to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry required.
• Previous supervisory experience required. In this role, you will be supervisor of accounting staff.
• Prior Controller experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and logical functions.
• Experience with multiple entities and intercompany accounting is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Navision, Microsoft D365, or Oracle NetSuite preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• CPA certification strongly preferred.
