Systems Administrator IV

Kaiser Permanente seeks a Systems Administrator IV to lead the design, implementation, and support of complex health systems infrastructure. You will manage Linux/Windows servers, virtualization, storage, and cloud-integrated environments supporting mission-critical clinical applications. Responsibilities include performance tuning, automation, backup and recovery, security hardening, and incident response. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, document standards, and mentor junior admins while driving continual improvement in a fast-paced, innovation-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise server and health systems infrastructure
• Administer Linux and Windows servers, virtualization, and storage platforms
• Monitor system performance and conduct tuning for reliability and scalability
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
• Harden systems, apply patches, and enforce security best practices and compliance
• Automate routine tasks using scripting and configuration management tools
• Troubleshoot complex incidents and provide advanced technical support
• Collaborate with application, network, and security teams on solutions and projects
• Document architectures, standards, and procedures for systems operations
• Mentor junior administrators and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
