Accounting Clerk

We are currently recruiting on an accounting clerk job opening for a client’s growing finance department. This position is starting on a temporary basis with the potential to convert to a full-time permanent job in the near future. This position is fully onsite in-office 5days per week. Starting pay is $25-30/hr. We are looking for a highly motivated junior staff accountant to join our US Finance team. The ideal candidate will support the accounting & finance department by performing day-to-day accounting tasks, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring accuracy in financial records. This position will require you to have a broad understanding of basic accounting principles, great attention to detail, strong sense of urgency, and excellent communication skills. Primary Responsibilities Record and reconcile daily cash transactions across multiple bank accounts Process and record employee T&E expenses, ensuring proper coding and ledger reconciliation Monitor, process, and accurately post AP card expenses to appropriate GL accounts Record various journal entries and assist in maintaining the general ledger Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities Prepare financial reports and schedules as needed Assist with audit preparation and documentation requests Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies Maintain organized financial records and documentation Assist in other accounting projects which includes cross collaboration with other teams in the Finance Department and help evolving our processes Manage workload efficiently by organizing, prioritizing, and executing tasks in a timely and high-quality manner Represent the Finance team with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence Assist accounting & finance team with ad hoc responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or related field Able to commute into the NYC office 5days per week. 2-3 years of accounting/finance experience, internships strongly preferred.
