Production/Maintenance, Machinist/Ops 3rd Shift Location: US‑CT‑MIDDLETOWN‑220A, Aircraft Rd BLDG 220A, United States. Shift: 3rd shift (11:30 PM – 6:30 AM). Training on 1st or 2nd shift may be required. What You Will Do Set up and operate one or more machine tools or process equipment types to produce precision turbine engine parts in a designated area with well‑developed methods and supplied tooling, gaging, and fixturing. Follow verbal and written instructions, operation sheets, drawings, and supervisory directions to operate milling, boring, grinding, turning, broaching, and shaping machines, ensuring dimensional specifications are met and replacing dull or damaged tools as needed. Perform bench, assembly, and surface finishing operations such as deburring, blending, trimming, and fitting using hand and power tools; carry out drilling, riveting, bonding, and part‑marking operations to assemble details into finished parts. Use media (dry or liquid) for cleaning, part preparation, and finishing; operate tumbling, grit‑blast, shot‑peen, buffing, polishing, wash machines, and dip tanks; apply masking and anti‑gall and polymite coatings, curing in dry bake ovens. Utilize fixed or variable measuring instruments, including OpCert and other computer‑based systems, to check dimensions and part features and maintain records. Perform routine servicing following specific procedures and written operator checklists to keep equipment operating properly. May be required to obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, and certifications relevant to the assigned area. Qualifications You Must Have High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 6 months of relevant experience. Qualifications We Prefer Internal or recall members of the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit District Lodge 26 and affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations) receive priority consideration.
