Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to support our emergency room team. This position involves both day and evening shifts on a 12-hour schedule, providing critical care and support to patients in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform 12 lead EKGs and obtain vital signs.
Room patients from triage and assist in the application of cardiac monitoring.
Administer oxygen as delegated and document direct patient care tasks and responses continuously.
Communicate relevant patient data clearly and promptly to assigned nursing staff.
Observe and document on patients requiring close observation or 1:1 status.
Adhere to hospital and unit policies regarding patient care, including bathing, feeding, transferring, and other personal care duties as assigned.
Participate in quality improvement activities and infection control procedures.
Respond to emergency situations in accordance with established protocols.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience as an EMT.
Proficiency in using Epic and phlebotomy skills.
Current National EMT License or EMT License from Minnesota.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (AHA only).
Ability to manage fluctuating schedules and occasional weekend and holiday shifts as needed.

Please note that no more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) will be accepted.
