Make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary students as a Special Education Teacher on a full-time contract assignment. This opportunity offers the chance to support students in grades K-5, working collaboratively with dedicated educational teams to create an inclusive and supportive environment. The role does not include responsibilities for a behavior room, allowing you to focus on delivering quality instruction across various elementary grade levels.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate to grades K-5
- Proven experience or coursework in elementary-level special education
- Strong ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to K-5 students in special education settings
- Develop and modify instructional materials tailored to student goals
- Collect data and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate, timely records
- Employ evidence-based teaching strategies and differentiated instruction
- Contribute to a supportive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning for all students
This contract position offers a consistent 40-hour workweek, beginning as soon as possible and extending through the end of the school year. It’s an excellent opportunity for educators who are passionate about supporting diverse learners while gaining valuable elementary experience.
