Horace - Elevator Operator The Elevator Operator position supports the daily operation of the grain facility, helping ensure the safe, efficient handling, storage, conditioning, and movement of grain. This position works closely with the Grain Superintendent to maintain grain quality, monitor facility operations, communicate inventory and storage needs, and provide excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is committed to safety, knowledgeable of grain industry regulations, and willing to assist with all aspects of facility maintenance and operations. Location 13991 E 1700th Rd, Chrisman, IL 61924 Reports to Grain Superintendent Salary $17-$24 per hour Key Responsibilities Follow all personnel and safety policies Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all established personnel and safety policies and procedures Assists the grain superintendent with the operation of the grain facility. Receiving, grading, conditioning, drying, storing, blending, and loading out of grain in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the VP of Grain and Grain Superintendent Be knowledgeable of governmental regulations concerning OSHA, EPA, and the storing and handling of grain. Assists customers in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner Assists the grain superintendent in communication of quantity and quality of grain stocks and storage space available Perform all tasks required at the facility that contribute to customer service, grain conditioning and facility maintenance Required Knowledge, Skills, And Leadership Characteristics Excellent Customer Service Skills Must possess excellent communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with management and customers Has a self-motivating personality as well as team-building skills Must be 18 years of age or older Work Environment All safety equipment provided by the company. The employee will work both inside and outside with mechanical equipment and occasionally climbing and working in high places.
